The NIA Technique with Helen Allen


Nia is movement medicine for body & soul. It’s for men & women of any level of fitness. Holistic fitness that combines Martial Arts, Healing Arts and Dance Arts. Done barefoot to music, NIA delivers cardiovascular and whole-body conditioning.

The Joy of Movement!

Because Nia is always done at your fitness level, it accommodates a person’s current ability, whatever that is.


People with pains, injuries and disabilities can improve their muscle tone, increase muscle definition, improve endurance and calm the mind.



As a movement program, Nia is based on the Pleasure Principle: if it feels good keep doing it, if it hurts, stop!
